Our Story & The Creator of Generate Kind Co.

Generate Kind Co was born from a love of all things natural and nature-inspired. We believe in living a balanced, mindful lifestyle — nourishing our bodies with wholesome foods, moving in fresh air and caring for our thoughts as much as our skin. When these things align, the idea of using synthetic, chemical-laden skincare feels out of step with the life we want to live.

Kia ora, I’m Mel, the creator behind Generate Kind Co. I’m a Kiwi through and through — New Zealand, Aotearoa, is where my heart belongs. I’m a wife to my husband Jody, a mother to our daughter Evelyn, an Early Childhood Educator, and now a small business owner. Those who know me would describe me as health-conscious, with a daily commitment to move my body — whether that’s yoga, stretching, biking, walking our local community or exploring the hills and forests around us.

I haven’t always used natural skincare. Growing up, I struggled with acne on my face and body and didn’t know the abundance of nutrient-rich, healing botanicals available. In my early adult years, my journey toward holistic health and wellbeing deepened as I researched natural ingredients and embraced a sustainably healthy lifestyle.

During my pregnancy with Evelyn, I dug even deeper, learning which botanicals were safest and most nourishing for both my skin and my growing baby. This led to the creation of products aligned with our values — gentle, effective and mindful of the health of both parent and child. After she was born, my journey continued, developing skincare that was safe, natural and nurturing for her delicate skin and wellbeing.

Generate Kind Co was born from the dream of creating simple, effective, natural skincare — handcrafted thoughtfully and lovingly for families who share the same values.

The word “Kind” has always held a deep meaning for me. From my work as an Early Childhood Educator/Kaiako, I’ve seen the power of teaching kindness — to people, to the environment and to ourselves. It’s a simple word, but a powerful one. It now forms the heart of Generate Kind Co, woven into every product and decision we make.

Our goal is to extend that kindness beyond education — through skincare that nurtures, uplifts and creates a positive ripple of wellbeing for people, families and the planet.
